The Traditional Igbo Religion view on God is that He is the ultimate creator named Chukwu, and has got messengers, or lesser gods known as alusi. These deities are then seen as mediators between men and the all-great Chukwu. But then, the dieties have got Chief Priests and Shrine servants who act as more specific intermediaries between the people and the deities These deities control more detailed aspects of creation and handle the Sky, the Seas, Fire, and other elements.
