In Christ, there is no "caste" system! In the Gospel according to Matthew, Jesus says "You know that the rulers of the gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, lt him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave ------just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."(Mt. 20:25--28) The "Christian Caste System may have had its origin with Peter, as recorded in Acts 6 where Peter says "It is not right that we should neglect the Word of God and serve tables--"
In Peter's defense, I should say that he may not have had the scriptural advantage that modern Christians do! But surely Peter was present when Jesus talked about servanthood. Peter's speech and actions seem to convey his lack of understanding about what the Word of God calls him (and us) to do! However, the body of Christ has not been served well by this artificial division between the clergy and the laity (the people of God).

Yes, because Catholics believe that everyone was created in God's image and should be treated the same way.
Caste system is not an intrinsic part of Hinduism, and labelling individuals with a caste based on their profession or surname can perpetuate a system that is often discriminatory. It is best to avoid associating individuals with a particular caste without explicit information from them.
