Travelling from Auckland to Johannesburg you would leave Auckland either in the morning and travel via Sydney, or in the afternoon and travel via Perth.

If you leave in the morning, say at 6 or 7am then get QF 63 from Sydney to Johannesburg you would arrive at 4pm South African time but this would be 3am the next day NZ time, leaving you very jetlagged!
