All five countries have been Lutheran protestant since 1520's - 1530's. First Sweden-Finland, shortly after Denmark-Norway-Iceland. Before that they were Catholic, typically since 10th century.

In Denmark, the dominant faith is the Evangelical Lutheran religion; this is also the dominant religion in Norway. In Sweden, the dominant religion has a different name-- the Church of Sweden; but it too practices the Evangelical Lutheran faith.
