Other choices exist, but the Salisbury Plains at dawn, especially at Stonehenge is a memorable sight. The Roman cities of Canterbury, Bath, Chester & York all have much to commend them architecturally. I've walked the Wesh border, and the Wye valley is beautiful. The North York moors & coastal path too. Cheddar Gorge, not far from me, is magnificent. Pretty, now there's a concept......Perhaps the most evocative, personally, seeing the white cliffs of Dover from the ferry & knowing I am going home...
