People who live near the Yangtze strongly believe in Buddhism/ a Buddha, as far as I know.
its the head of the food chain in the river.
People use the Yangtze River for many things like water, irrigation, sanitation, transportation, industry, boundary-marking, and war. The Yangtze is the third longest river on the planet; translated, the name means 'long river.'

I'm unable to display images or maps directly. However, you can easily find a map of the Yangtze River by searching online or using mapping services like Google Maps. The Yangtze River is the longest river in Asia, flowing through several provinces in China, from its source in the Tibetan Plateau to its mouth at the East China Sea.
The length of the Yangtze River is 6,236 km or 3,876 miles. It is the longest river of China and third longest river of the world.Source: S. Liu, P. Lu, D. Liu, P. Jin, W. Wang, Pinpointing the sources and measuring the lengths of the principal rivers of the world, International Journal of Digital Earth, Volume 2, Issue 1 March 2009 , pages 80 - 87,DOI: 10.1080/17538940902746082ce

Oil kills animals, plants and more. It can leak into rivers and sewage. Like the Yangtze River
Not sure but this sounds like a Yangtze River flood in northern China. The Yangtze or "Yellow" River has typically flooded at least once a decade for as long as people can remember, killing millions of people. Maybe the new Three Gorges Dam will bring the river under control
Like any aquatic animal, the Yangtze river dolphin couldn't travel over land to get into a different river system. The only way to get to another river system would have been to swim out of the mouth of the Yangtze and along the coast until they reached the mouth of another river. However, the dolphins didn't know that there were any other river systems to escape to, and even if they had, they couldn't have crossed the ocean because they were a freshwater species and didn't have kidneys adapted for filtering enough salt out of their bodies that they could drink seawater.
