Very possibly a great deal. The range is from $300 to over $20,000 depending on rarity and condition. A qualified collector/appraiser could approximate the value. In the interim, do not let it rust and don't even think of firing it. An expert will give an opinion for free or for a nominal charge. Good luck.

CVA was only a seller of Pistols they did not manufacture them selves I would say it is a repo of a navy revolver if it is a 36 cal or a 44 cal 6 shot revolver they had a ship engraved on it. It is a functional reproduction made in the late 70's. It will shoot a .454 ball with 30 grains of black powder. It was sold as a confederate model 1850 navy.Original black powder firearms will never be marked "Black powder only", since at the time, that was the only form of gunpowder. As said, your CVA is a modern reproduction.
It is on the frame.

A 1850 black powder .44 caliber pistol typically has an effective range of about 50 to 100 yards, depending on the shooter's skill and the specific pistol's design. However, accuracy tends to decrease significantly beyond this range. These pistols were primarily designed for close to medium-range engagements, reflecting the shooting techniques of that era.
