There are 8 varations of the Crosman 760 but only 2 are the Powermaster model. In Excellent condition NIB (New In Box) about $25 a used one goes for $10.
The Power Master 760 B B Repeater 177 Pell that we have has a wooden stock and wooden pump handle. It has brass component parts and the slide lever and trigger are brass too. I believe it is fairly old and the name plate with Crossman Arms Co says Pat pend with no number. Don't the mass produced ones only have plastic stocks etc, how much more does this mean mine is worth? I was a finish sander at Kimber of Oregon and am thinking of customizing this stock. Could that improve the value or will I lose valve?
Get your hands on a book called "Bluebook of airguns 9th edition" it has a photo of most all the 760 models. The most valuable model is the 1st variation. It adds a value of 300% to the current condition. You will have to make a decision as to the condition of your rifle. From your description it sounds like yours is a first variation made between 1966 and 1970 As for re-doing your stock. It goes in two different directions. Most Collectors want the rifle in original condition not refinished. But others like the unusual and see the value in it. Personally if it turns out to not be over valuable I would modify the stock to your personal liking. I own a few airguns that I have re-finished the stock. I know it drops the value, I don't care. It's mine and I don't plan on getting rid of it. It's a case of personal taste verses am I going to sell it.
The CROSMAN 760 Powermaster started production in 1966 then went through 8 different changes and ended in 1991
Crosman has all their Air gun manuals online see the link below and find your model. The list has both the Owners Manual and Parts Manual.
These BB rifles were mass produced.. Normally I would ask you to describe it to get an estimate of value. But because there are so many around the book places the value in good condition around $15 to $20. If it is the Canada boy model you can add $250 to the value.
No it is designed for backyard target, small rodent control and simple shooting. It doesn't have enough power hunting

Colman did not make a model 66, Crosman did. In fair working condition it is worth around $25-$35.

Difference between Amplifier and Repeater 1. Amplifier is used to magnify a signal, whereas repeater is used to receive and retransmit a signal with a power gain. 2. Repeater has an amplifier as a part of it. 3. Sometimes, amplifiers introduce some noise to the signal, whereas repeaters contain noise eliminating parts.
CROSMAN MARK II The first Variant was made between 1966--1980 Second Variant (Without adjustable power) 1981-- 1986
There are well over 8 different variations of the Crosman model 760. Unfortunately Crosman doesn't have an on-line list of dates for model 760. However each model variation has a distinct variation that can give you a hint of the year it was made. So here is what I suggest. you can try Crosman Customer Service ( see the link below) and ask them, or you can get a hold of a book called "Bluebook of airguns" and read the section on the model 760 and identify your model year.
Add a few drops of Crosman Pellgun oil to your pellets.
