What is the width of the Himalayas?

Lifted by the collision of the Indian tectonic plate with the Eurasian Plate, the Himalayan range runs north west to south east in a 2,400 kilometres (1,500 mi) long arc. The range varies in width from 400 kilometres (250 mi) in the west to 150 kilometres (93 mi) in the east.

8848 meters, the Everest being the highest mountain. This has been the number for years but some geeks at the National Geographic Society measured the mountain with a satellite and the given number was 8849,87m. Slightly harder to remember ! ;-)
