In 539 BC the Persians conquered Babylon, allowed the Jews to return home and Judah became the Persian province of Yehud. In 432 BC Alexander the great conquered the Perisan Empire. Judah then became part of the Seleucid Empire which was ruled by the Greek Seleucid dynasty. In 63 BC Judah became a vassal of the Romans. In 6 AD the emperor Augustus annexed it to the Roman Empire
