The most famous holiday is Bastille Day which is celebrated on July 14th. It signifies the storming of the Bastille Prison which marked the first major event in the French Revolution of 1789.
Christmas is not a major holiday in China. Only about 1% of the population actually celebrates. It is only celebrated on the actual day of the holiday.
Halloween is a carryover from pagan celebrations into Christian traditions, in this case a final free-for-all for demons and spirits of the dead on the eve of All Saints' (All Hallows) Day. The Japanese have similar celebrations in which the spirits of the dead are welcomed back briefly, but they do not celebrate the Western holiday.
Christmas is celebrated in Nigeria. Homes are decorated for Christmas. Christmas eve parties are common in Nigeria. Families usually go to church on Christmas day.
Japan doesn't even have Christmas. They worship buddha not Jesus.

Easter Sunday is the major holiday in Christianity because it is the day that Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave. Christianity stands or falls on the resurrection of Christ. Please read I Corinthians 15:12-23. The holiday that is second is Christmas as this is the day Christians celebrate the coming of Jesus Christ to earth as a human being (Incarnation). Jesus came for one major reason and that was to die for the sins of the world. That He did on the cross of Calvary, then he was buried and was then resurrected the third day. We do not know the actual day that Jesus was born, but celebrated it on December 25th. Our Easter Sunday closely follows the Jewish Passover (the day Jesus was crucified).
Ramadan ____________________________________________ The month is the month of Ramadan. It is the 9th month in the Islamic lunar calendar. The major holiday is called Eidul Fitr (or the feast of fasting end) and is celebrated on the first day after end of the month of Ramadan (the first day on the tenth month of the Islamic calendar).
