Napoleon made three basic mistakes in Spain:
a. He imposed an unpopular 'king' on the Spanish.
b. His method of feeding his army involved taking food by force from the locals rather than paying for it as did wellington. Thus, just about every Spaniard became an enemy causing him to waste troops on guarding duties.
c. His generals failed to alter their battle tactics in response to the success of the British line defence and so lost every major battle they fought against the British from Portugal right up to Paris (and beyond at Waterloo). They also did not know how to cope with the Guerilla warfare
There is of course much more to all of this but I believe in essence that these were his three big errors in Spain.
Italy, Egypt, Austria, Russia and Spain.
Austria, Spain, Holland, Denmark, the Italian and German states etc.
No, Napoleon was not a Habsburg. He was born on August 15, 1769, on the island of Corsica to a family of Italian nobility. The Habsburgs were a prominent European royal family, primarily associated with Austria and Spain, and had no direct connection to Napoleon's lineage. However, Napoleon's marriage to Archduchess Marie Louise of Austria in 1810 linked him to the Habsburg dynasty.
Spain and Austria do not share a border
No, he was born on Corsica.
France, Spain, the boot of Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, western Germany and eastern Poland.
Napoleon put his brother Joseph on the throne of Spain, having deposed the king. This was June 6th 1808. The Spanish resistance was largely disorganised, they made difficult allies for the British, unlike the Portugese who were of great help to Wellington. Napoleon did not linger in Spain, having seen off Sir John Moore at Corunna. Instead he went back to Austria, to Wagram & Aspern-Essling.
To Conquer Spain.
Napoleon II grow up in exile in Austria, with his mother.
No but you can be Prussia or Austria
Because of Napoleon's conquests conservatives in Austria, Prussia, and Russia had to deal with the ideas of French revolution. The idea of nationalism also spread creating further problems for the conservatives.
