The same place you would go if you did have a date. There are no shops for people who do not have a date !!!
You couldn't go by boat to Rome from Pompeii. Rome is north of Pompeii and inland.
The people of Pompeii had stores and they also had market stalls. One day a week there was a farmers market in the forum. Food came in from all over the world to the Roman Empire.
yes they do because in shops more people go to shops in the daytime.
Today you can visit the city. I was there in 2005. It is worth the trip.

The Pompeii explosion, mount Vesuvius, killed the whole town of Pompeii and killed people in other towns to. Also this volcano erupted in 79 AD and it cremated the whole town and the town people with ash. when you go to the natural history museum you will find, in the volcano section, actual real people from Pompeii covered in ash.
I think that would be a great ideal. If there are local beer makers in your area I think people should chose different shops and allow them to get the sells so yes just go to your local give shops.
Gun shops, gun shows, sporting goods store, pawn shops.
Pompeii was not a city where wealthy people went. It was an average, working, Roman town. Not to say that there were not wealthy people living in Pompeii, there were, just as in any other city, but they were generally the people who made their wealth in Pompeii and so belonged to the city's upper class. The wealthy went to the city of Herculaneum or to Stabiae or Oplontis, which were resort towns.
So people can remember what to buy at the shops. Most people don't remember what to buy when they go to the shops so they write it down.
