Glenelg, the hills (Hahndorf, Mount Barker) and if you have a car you should definitely see the Yorke Peninsula, the prettiest place with the best beaches and the Fleurieu Peninsula. Other day trip destinations are Victor Harbour, the Barossa Valley, and Southern Vales.

Adelaide's the best place to live, but not that great to visit.

In the CBD itself, North Terrace is a pleasant place to visit and Parliament House, Adelaide, Railway Station, Government House, State Library, Art Gallery, University of Adelaide, Royal Adelaide Hospital, and the Botanic Gardens all are to be found on its northern side. The main city shopping precinct, Rundle Mall, is in the next street. The River Torrens, Adelaide Festival Centre, and the Adelaide Zoo are a short walk away. The Adelaide Central Market near Victoria Square is also worth a visit, although it isn't open every day.
