All breeds of sheep can be found in FL, mostly kept by hobby farmers. The most popular breeds are the Suffolk and the Barbados, for the ethnic demand for their meat. The Barbados is preferred as they are a hair sheep and do not need to be sheared and can tolerate the 100 degree temps. 7 months a year much better than other sheep breeds who can easily die if not kept sheared.
