Echo - Good story-teller.
Narcissus - the epitome of vain and narcissistic (which is where the word comes from)
For one thing Echo was a girl and Narcissus was a boy. Another thing was that Narcissus was very cruel to Echo.
Where echoes come from, and where the flower narcissus does - the flower the Greeks call narcissus is different than the one in the US.
echo loves narcissus but he rejects her and she dies so narcissus got a curse put on him where he could only love himself so he had pity on himself and was turned in a flower on the riverbank..!!
The Face in the Pool (the story of Echo and Narcissus)Zeus had been going down to earth to hang out with the nymphs. Every time Hera (Zeus' wife) came down to see him, Echo- one of the nymphs- distracted her so she wouldn't see Zeus. Once Hera found out that Echo had been tricking her she cursed her, so that she would never say the first words, only the last.Narcissus was a man who was very vain. One day he was hunting in the forest. Echo saw him and followed him because he was so beautiful. Narcissus heard her and said "Who are you? Come to me!" Echo replied "Come to me!" so Narcissus said "Stop hiding, let us meet!" Echo replied "Let us meet!" When Echo went to see Narcissus she embraced him. "Leave me alone!" he said. "I'd rather die than love you!". "Love you' was all Echo could say back. Echo goes to live in a cave.Later Narcissus finds a pool, and he sees his own reflection in it and falls in love. He dies while sitting there. "Goodbye, my love!" are his last words. Echo hears from the cave. "Goodbye, my love" she says back. And then Narcissus turns into a beautiful flower.---This is a tragic story of someone who falls in love and cannot act on it, and someone who is in love with himself. The character Narcissus is the basis for the modern term "narcissist", someone who is egotistic, self-centered and vain.
The Narcissus flower got it's name from the story of Narcissus and Echo in mythology. Narcissus was a hunter and Echo was a nymph. Echo loved Narcissus, but Narcissus thought of no one but himself. One day while Narcissus was out hunting, he saw his reflection in the water. He thought it was so beautiful that he forgot to eat and drink and soon faded away. The gods took pity on him and turned him into a flower. That is how the Narcissus got it's name.
In Greek mythology, Zeus would often go down to the mortal world. Hera would go after him, but runs into Echo every time while Zeus quietly returns to Olympus. When Hera learned that Echo was working for Zeus, she cursed her to where she would only repeat what every one else said and only spoke when spoken to. Echo met Narcissus, a handome young man, and followed him. She kept on repeating him, and he threw her. She cried and died of a broken heart. Aphrodite took pity on Echo and cursed Narcissus. Narcissus fell in love with hinmself and stood by a lake. He realized he had loved in vain and died. Where he died, a narcissus flower grew.
We did a whole unit on mythology and I learned and read ALOT! Echo and Narcissus is greek and here's the story I remember reading..." One day Echo was climbing a mountain after being told he was annoying and talked too much. He said something and narcissus said as a punishment for being to annoying and talkative he may not speak unless spoken to and has to repeat everything that anyone says". It was a much longer story but that's what I remember...hope I answered your question!
Laziness is not usually considered a beneficial character trait.
A character trait is something that is part of the character, like their appearance, thoughts and emotions. Fast might be a trait, but it's not a very revealing one - lots of people are fast.
Echo was one of the Oreads or mountain nymphs. She loved her own voice more than anything, and would often help Zeus hide his frivolities with the other nymphs by distracting Hera with stories. Hera learned of the deception, though, and took away Echo's voice, forcing her to, instead, mimic the voices and words of others. Echo was an oread, who always had to have the last word. She was cursed by Juno to only be able to speak that which was spoken to her. She fell in love with Narcissus. Both of them died of grief, from not being able to be with the ones they loved.
Her name is Echo. She lost her voice when she tried to protect her loved one called Narcissus who only cared about his looks from Hera's vengeance. Narcissus was turned into a flower by Hera. Zeus, later took pity on Echo and blessed her by saying that whenever anyone would shout out, then Echo would repeat back those words.
