Tenochtitlan was located within a valley that has a subtropical highland climate (Köppen Cwb), due to its tropical location and high elevation of 2,240 meters (7,349 feet) above sea level. The lower region of the valley is composed mainly of grassland that receives less rainfall than the upper regions of the south; the upper southern region is a mountainous region of pine and oak trees known as the range of Ajusco. At the time of its foundation, the valley was dominated by a large lake known as Lake Texcoco, so the climate was a bit cooler than it is today. After Spanish forces destroyed the Aztec capital city in 1521, they proceeded to desiccate the lake, and nowadays only some marshy remains of it lie on the northeastern area of the city, close to the airport.
The climate of the Aztec empire was humid and hot.
the climate was hot dry and rainy

The Aztec climate in central Mexico was typically mild with a rainy season from May to October. The region experienced dry and cool weather from November to April. Temperatures were moderate due to the area's high elevation.
Some of the landforms in the Aztec region include mountains, valleys, lakes, and volcanic terrain. The Valley of Mexico, where the capital city of Tenochtitlan was built, is a prominent landform with its surrounding mountains. The nearby Lake Texcoco and active volcanoes like Popocatepetl further shaped the landscape of the Aztec civilization.
The Aztec civilization was built by the Mexica people who migrated to the Valley of Mexico in the 13th century. They founded their capital city, Tenochtitlan, on an island in Lake Texcoco, which is present-day Mexico City. The Aztecs established a vast empire through military conquest and alliances with other city-states in the region.
Tenochtitlan had a population of 200,000 - 250,000 people, four times the population of London at the time (1521). It was also built atop some islands on Lake Texcoco, interconnected by canals and passageways - much like the city of Venice, Italy.

Aztec warriors are like soldiers back in Mexico. There were 3 types. The Eagles, Jaguar, and the Shone ones.
Aztec buildings in Mexico City are often hidden due to the layers of urban development that have occurred since the Spanish conquest in the 16th century. When the Spanish arrived, they constructed new buildings over existing Aztec structures, leading to the burial of many ancient sites. Additionally, modern construction and urban expansion have further obscured these historical sites, with only a few areas, like the Templo Mayor, being excavated and preserved. As a result, much of the Aztec architecture remains concealed beneath the bustling city.
