2009 Minimum wage for Florida servers is calculated as follows:
Florida Minimum Wage $7.21 per hour less Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) tip credit of $3.02 for a direct wage owed by employer of $4.19 per hour. Overtime is (7.21 * 1.5) minus $3.02 FLSA tip credit for a total wage of $7.80 per hour plus tips.
Effective July 24, 2009 this will change because the federal minimum wage will increase to $7.25 and change the FLSA tip credit.
