Most wins by a Jockey in one day?
The record has to be shared. The late Chris Antley was the first jockey to win nine races in a single day, when he won four at Aqueduct and five later that night at The Meadowlands on October 31, 1987. On June 11, 2005, the day after winning five races in one day at Calder Race Course, jockey Eddie Castro set the North American record when he won nine races from his 11 mounts on Calder's 13-race card. For the purist, I guess Eddie Castro would hold the record because he did it at 1 race track while Chris Antley did it from 2 tracks.Castro's day went like this:Race 1 -- 2nd, Southphilly BarryRace 2 -- 1st, Bill's No Trouble ($4.00)Race 3 -- 1st, Snug Harbour ($8.20)Race 4 -- 1st, Dakota Max ($13.00)Race 5 -- no mountRace 6 -- 1st, Five Star Susan ($7.00)Race 7 -- no mountRace 8 -- 4th, Broadway BuckRace 9 -- 1st, Kin's Hurrah ($6.00)Race 10 -- 1st, Sebastian Light ($12.20)Race 11 -- 1st, Carey's Gold ($5.40)Race 12 -- 1st, Agent Won ($7.20)Race 13 -- 1st, Ben's Advantage ($3.80)
