There is no such thing as a Caddo symbol. Many people today wrongly think that each tribe historically had its own symbol, or colour, or set of colours, which is untrue.

This idea may come from the pictographs used in Winter Counts and other native drawings, where some specific tribes are indicated by various tribal peculiarities - but these are often different from one pictograph to another and were used about other tribes, often by their enemies.

The Omaha, for example, are often designated by short-cropped hair and red cheeks, the Ponca by an elk-hair roach and eagle feather, the Arapaho by a circle of blue clouds, the Crows by their distinctive hair style and so on. There is no record of any such sign indicating the Caddo.
