If we look at the gospels, skin diseases (under the blanket term of 'leprosy') were the most prevalent disease, followed by lameness, blindness and deafness, as well as demon possession. There seem to have been no heart conditions, stroke disabilities or any of the myriad diseases we now know about, or perhaps they were considered incurable. Although we would expect a high number of injuries in a generally lawless society (as we know it was), the gospels never mention any wounded person being healed or anyone even asking to have a hand or foot re-attached.
