The British took control of all of Ireland... well, it depends how you interpret control, but certainly by the 16th century. Then in 1919 to 1921, the Irish fought a war of independence against the British, and effectively won, persuading Britain to offer them a treaty that would free all Ireland except for the six counties of Northern Ireland. Why they kept those six is arguable, either to save face or because that was where all the Protestant Unionists lived, depending on what you think of the British of the time. But the Irish accepted the treaty (sort of), and so the Republic of Ireland was formed in 1921.
So we took control over Northern Ireland along with the rest somewhere between the 12th and 16th centuries, but lost all the rest in 1921.
No nation fits that description. You may be referring to United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, but that is split over two islands. England, Scotland and Wales are on the island called Great Britain. Northern Ireland is on the island of Ireland.
Northern Ireland can never be part of Britain, as Britain is an island consisting of England, Scotland and Wales. Northern Ireland is on the completely separate island called Ireland. Northern Ireland cannot be broken off the rest of the island of Ireland and dragged over to Britain and made into one piece of land. Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom, which consists of itself and the three parts of Britain, which are England, Scotland and Wales. Whether they want to stay as part of the United Kingdom or not is for the people of Northern Ireland to decide, and them only (under terms of the Good Friday Agreement). Neither Great Britain nor the rest of Ireland has any say.
Germanic peoples, the Angles, Saxons and Jutes from northern Germany and the Frisians from northern Holland, migrated there in waves and took the island over.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain includes Northern Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales, Great Britain is surrounded by over 1000 smaller isles which are included in the United Kingdom
The Romans didn't invent Britain, nor did they ever have complete control over the island. However, parts of the island were definitely controlled by Rome and that was from 42 AD to AD 410.
England is just England, a small country on the island of Britain. Americans often use England, Britain, Great Britain, and United Kingdom all interchangeably. However, Britain is the island upon which England stands, along with Wales and Scotland. Great Britain refers to the the island of Britain or to the combined countries of England, Scotland and Wales. United Kingdom refers to the fact that a single king or queen is regent over England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland; the full term is United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Ireland are not and have never been under the control of Great Britain. The United Kingdom consists of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the upper part of the island of Ireland, however Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are two different countries in their own right, although there have been many issues over the years over the National Identity of Northern Ireland, whether it should belong to Britain or become part of a United Ireland. Ireland itself has always been independent, to my knowledge, developing from Celtic traditions into the heavily Western-influenced country we see today.

No, Britain does not have control over Germany. Both countries - along with others - are members of the European Union.
The Chinese island taken over by Britain in 1911 is Hainan Island. Following the fall of the Qing Dynasty and the subsequent political changes in China, British forces occupied Hainan as part of their imperial interests. However, the British control was short-lived, as the island was returned to Chinese sovereignty after World War II.
The last Roman who was meant to have control over Britain was Honorius , the last emperor of the western part of the Roman Empire. However, he lost control when Constantine III was proclaimed emperor by the Roman soldiers in Britain, took the remaining Roman troops on the island to Gaul and established himself as usurper emperor of Gaul and Britain.
