The legislative branch makes laws for the nation. The main lawmaking body of this branch is known as Congress. Congress is made up of two parts, the House of Representatives and the Senate. Congress meets at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. So it make the laws.

The Capitol serves as the central hub for the legislative process in the U.S. government.
Members of Congress help make the laws. Once the laws are created, they are voted on and then a vote must be taken in the House of Representatives.
The Capitol building is very important, but the capitals of all the other states are very important as well.
