Where does the Alps mountain start and end?

Geographically and geologically speaking, the Alps stretch from the Mediterranean coast (on the French riviera, Monaco, and the Italian Liguria) to Austria and Slovenia, in the shape of a crescent. Through 1,200km (750mi) it crosses eight countries: France, Monaco, Italy, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Germany, Austria and Slovenia.

But more importantly, the Alps have become a space defined by particular cultural habits, architecture, urban planning and different economic incomes such as tourism and leisure.
