Where does the Antarctic midge live?

The Antarctic midge only consumes food during its larvae stage. From its Wikipedia page:

"Terrestrial algae, particularly Prasiola crispa, moss, organic detritus, and microorganisms provide the food for the larval stage"

You may be able to find Antarctic midge on the Antarctic Peninsula -- the warmest part of the continent. Their life cycle, however, makes them hard to find. They spend two winters in four larval stages buried in soil, and once they emerge into adulthood, they live for about a week.
