Rainfall varies a great deal here. There are two seasons, winter when we receive coastal rains and the summer monsoon season. The monsoon consists of fast moving (usually) strong thunderstorms which can drop a lot of rain fast! But on average, the White Mountains in the eastern central part and the north central from Prescott up to Flagstaff receive the most rain.

Rainforest
Arizona gets an average of 12.7 inches of rain each year.
The two biome's that gets the most rainfall is the tropical rain forest and the temperate deciduous forest.
The average rainfall in Arizona is 7.11 inches per year. Of course there is less in the desert areas than in the fertile areas. The above rainfall is distributed over 113,909 square miles contained in Arizona. The least rainfall is in June of each year, with only an average of 0.4 in, with the most being in July and August with about 2.8 in. These two figures are for Flagstaff.
Phoenix gets its fair share during monsoon season, around August, but it is extremely dry the rest of the year. The average annual rainfall at Phoenix's Sky Harbor Airport is only 8". The average annual rainfall at Flagstaff's Pulliam Airport, on the other hand, is about 22".

In Scotland you get the most rainfall because of all the high mountains.
Las Vegas, Nevada gets only 4.43 inches of rain per year. Phoenix, Arizona gets roughly 8 inches of rain per year.
