The European country with many, many, little islands is Greece. The mainland is on the southern Balkan Peninsula and has its own large peninsula (the Peloponnesus) across the Isthmus of Corinth. There are several fairly large islands, mostly in the Aegean Sea, with the largest and southernmost being Crete.The countries of Denmark and Italy both also have peninsulas and nearby islands.
