In the late 1600s, the English took over the Dutch colony of New Netherland. The capture occurred in 1664 when English forces seized the territory, which included present-day New York City. The English renamed the area New York after the Duke of York, further solidifying their control over the region. This takeover marked a significant shift in colonial power in North America.
Bowling was created by the dutch settlers in the origonal colonies in the late 1600's

The current Kingdom was found in 1815, with a major revision of the Constitution in 1848, making it more democratic. The Netherlands became an independent state in 1588, starting an Independence War against Spain which lasted 80 years. In 1648 it was a widely recognised country.
The English. The Kings brother the Duke of York was given a land grant for the area the Dutch colony occupied. This is why NY became New York because it was named after the Duke.
