Pamir Mountains and the Altai Mountains
The Balkan peninsula includes a number of mountain ranges such as the Dinaric Alps which run northwest along the Adriatic Sea coast; the mountains of Greece and Bulgaria. The Bulgarian mountains include the Balkan mountains that run west to east through Bulgaria to the Black Sea. South of the Balkans lie the Rila and Rhodope mountains that extend through Sofia to the Aegean Sea. The highest peak (Musala) and second highest peak (Vichren) in Bulgaria lies within these mountains.
The Mid-Ocean Ridge is a chain of mountains that extends into Earth's oceans. It is a submerged mountain range that runs through the center of the ocean basins and is formed by tectonic plates spreading apart.
The Zagros mountains go through Iran and Iraq.
