Three famous Americans with historic buildings or monuments named after them in Missouri are Thomas Jefferson, for the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial in St. Louis, Harry S. Truman, honored by the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum in Independence, and Mark Twain, with the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum in Hannibal. These sites commemorate their contributions to American history and culture.
