America became the richest country because of the fact that a whole lot of countries put money into this land because they had different territories. Also, as we are a newer country than most, our resources are more new and more available so that way we can still have something to trade. And, most important of all, we became the richest country because of our hard work and dedication.

North America and South America are continents. When someone says "America" all on its own, they usually are speaking of the country the United States of America; it is often called, the US, USA, or simply just America for short.
Mesoamerica is a historical and cultural region in the Americas, specifically in the southern part of North America and most of Central America. It includes countries such as Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica.
The Americas as a whole don't account for the bulk of the Earth's land mass- only a bit under half of it! However, North America is slightly larger than South America, but only if you include Canada, Alaska, Newfoundland and Mexico.
