Florida has winds/fronts come off the Ocean and the Gulf that keep it mildly cool. But Nebraska does not hit 100 degrees in the summer on very many days, most of which are caused by longer periods of sunlight during the day, with lack of cold fronts coming from the more North-Eastern regions of the US.
