Obviously, not everyone is 'unenlightened' and the term is open to various interpretations. In my experience some people are terrified of learning anything fundammentally new or of looking at things in new ways. It sends them into a terrible panic. In other words they lack the sense of security needed for lifelong learing. Some react to unfamiliar knowledge with pure rage. I remember a case involving something really unimportant. A man made a mistake when trying to translate a couple of sentences into Spanish. Someone corrected the mistake politely, whereupon he exclaimed, 'That's what I learned at school and nobody is going to take it away from me.' That kind of defensiveness is a real obstacle to learning. ==
We all have different ways of looking at the world we live in, and what we learn and use is linked to our experiences. So, there are two ways to not being able to change your outlook. One is ignorance, and since people learn in their own time and space, they have to march to their own drummer, so to speak. The other is stupidity, which I think is how we all can sabotage learning something important by being resistant for some reason or another that does not really (TO ANYONE ELSE) make sense. == ==
Enlightened people are people who consider themselves to have attained a higher level of intelligence or spirituality than other people. They consider the majority of people to be unenlightened or in the dark.

You would have to be quite unenlightened to believe that, since it's not in any religious doctrine.

It means that something you don't know can't affect you (good or bad). So, you remain unenlightened. (blissful ignorance)
No, it is a natural sexual orientation. In less informed times, it was a popular belief to think of it as a mental illness. Being homosexual is no longer considered any kind of disease. Though there are some unenlightened people that still consider it so.
It certainly isn't from Lord of the Flies.
In those unenlightened days, King Henry VIII, was an absolute monarch, and did not need to justify his actions.
Napoleon made himself somewhat of a "divine right" ruler, controlling a government which was not in the hands of the people being ruled. He loved war, which the enlightened writers didn't approve of much, and he also didn't give true freedom of the press.
A:Yes. Most Christians would agree that there are a few charlatans who, under the guise of preaching the gospel, would prey on the vulnerable among us. They say that people should question all things so that they know which path to follow for salvation. Atheists would go further and say that people should question the very basis of Christianity, so that they can decide whether the Church itself is taking advantage of the unenlightened. However, most atheists would be quite comfortable with people making an informed decision to follow the religion of their choice after making those inquiries. People do have the right to follow a religion without being criticised for doing so.
A bull has a scrotum in which the testicles are held. An unenlightened person might think that it looks like an udder.
