There are many reasons why people came to Wyoming. Abundant wildlife for food and clothing was why early people came to Wyoming. Fur trappers and traders came for animal hides. Many people traveled through Wyoming on their way to Oregon and California and some ended up staying in Wyoming.

Then the train tracks were built through Wyoming and brought more people - people who worked for the railroad and people who supplied the railroad.

The area now known as Yellowstone National Park became famous and also brought people to Wyoming.
