When the Spanish explorers arrived in Mexico they had priests with them. The priests convert the people they found.
Spain was the nation that sent explorers to Mexico and Florida before English settlers arrived in the New World. Spanish explorers, such as Hernán Cortés and Juan Ponce de León, were among the first Europeans to explore these regions in the early 16th century. Their expeditions laid the groundwork for Spanish colonization and significantly impacted the indigenous populations and cultures in those areas.
Since 1521, when Spanish conquistadores conquered Mexico and began to colonize it, bringing with them most of their traditions, including bullfighting.
The Spanish and French explorers used the Gulf of Mexico as an exploration route to get to Mexico and other parts of North America.
When Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California becamse part of the United States, Spanish was already being spoken there. Explorers from Spain were settling those places while explorers from England were settling in Virginia and Pennsylvania.
