Why do people visit Alabama?

Generally speaking the US State of Alabama is not a tourist haven. Alabama, however, does have points of interest that some tourists will find attractive.

One are is the Gulf coast beaches and resorts on the southern tip of Alabama that has a coastline with the Gulf of Mexico. The southern tip is also the location of Mobile. This city was once the home of the famous Mardi Gras, which has since gone to New Orleans. The city is a busy one however, and was an important port in the Civil War.

Other points of interest are its two major universities. The University of Alabama is the State's leading public university. The school offers a huge football stadium and has exhibits of scientific interests. Auburn University is also in Alabama and is a private school. It's large and has sporting events and also has exhibits of science.

Alabama also has forests for camping and hiking.

Well, being originally from AL and now living in FL, I usually hear people say it's because they have family there...honestly not many people visit really unless there is family or they just so happen to be driving through, which in most cases people say they don't actually stop. and to be even more honest...there really isn't much to do there or really any tourist attractions so...but I'm just being real for you, a lot of Alabamians are to proud to admit that there is no true reason to visit other than well, family, riding through to get some where more interesting or work lol.
