To start a war and take over the ghetto of hoodlums and apparels

He said yes.
Fortinbras is heir to the throne of Norway. He is a parallel character to Hamlet. He wants to recover the lands that King Hamlet, Prince Hamlet's father, won away from Norway in combat on the day that Prince Hamlet was born. He asks for free passage across Denmark to attack Poland, but that may be a ruse to get his troops on Danish land to force his claim. [This is what has Claudius worried enough to add extra sentries at the start of the play.] At the end of the play, with all of the corpses littering the floor, Fortinbras assumes the throne of Denmark and orders the corpses to be carted away.
Fortinbras's uncle was not aware of Fortinabras plan to attack Denmark, but his uncle has stopped him from doing against Denmark. He then asks if his army can cross into Denmark on their way to battle in Poland.
They say that the King of Norway has reined in Fortinbras, and that Fortinbras is not going to pursue his ambitions against Denmark any more. Instead, he wants to take the army he has sharked up in the skirts of Norway and attack Poland, and requests passage through Denmark to do so.
sending him a letter
Hamlets said in his last words "but i do prophesy the election lights on Fortinbras, he has my dying voice." so that means Fortinbras was named.
He ends up being King of Denmark. Since the entire royal family of Denmark gets dead in the last act, and Fortinbras happens to be there with an army, he wins by default. Fortinbras says that he has some claim to the throne of Denmark. This is crap--he has no claim at all as Claudius showed clearly in the first act. He is just a scumbag adventurer who happens to be in the right place at the right time.
Fortinbras is the son of the former king of Norway. His father died at the hand of Hamlet Sr (Hamlet's father). His uncle took the throne, however it is said that he is on his death bed. Fortinbras is said to be mounting an army throughout the play in order to take back the land his father lost to Denmark. At the end of the play, just before Hamlet dies he announces Fortinbras to be the new king of Denmark.
He gives Fortinbras his vote to become king.
Claudius writes to his uncle the king of Norway telling him what's going on. The king of Norway takes care of Fortinbras.
Hamlet nominates young Fortinbras to take the throne of Denmark.
