It's not true to say that "everybody hates Serbians". Most people around the world probably don't even think of Serbians at any particular point in their lives.

It is a common feeling in some sections of the Serbian community that they are being persecuted. This feeling derives from the fact that some Serbs believe that they have certain rights - like to particular territories - that are inhabited by a majority of people who are not Serbians or who do not wish to be a part of a Serbian state.

This makes some Serbs feel as their rights have been violated. But really, there's nothing you can do when the inhabitants of a territory you claim don't want to be a part of your country, unless you harass and terrorise them, which unfortunately some Serbs took it on themselves to do.

Even though it is unfair, some people are likely to hate Serbians because some Serbian people have committed war crimes. Even though this does not make all Serbians war criminals, some people will likely be prejudiced against them nonetheless. That's how prejudice works.

It's true that things like the violence in Kosovo, where many Albanians were forcibly evicted from their homes by the Serbian army, make some people think badly of Serbs. But the bad acts of some Serbians, or even of the Serbian government, should not reflect on all Serbian people, any more than a President of the US is universally loved by everyone in the US.
