Our traditional homes are open plan, as it is too hot in Samoa, so you could feel the breeze come in. We have shutters weaved from coconut fronds (pola) which we pull down if it's rainy or breezy, or for privacy, and gathered up to get light and breeze in. We have windows in all our other homes.
