There are 2 mains groups. The flemish and the walloons. Flemish are dutch speaking and the majority (65%). Walloons are french speaking and the minority. Despit there majority the dutch-speaking belgians have allways been suppressed by the french speaking, who looked down onto them, the french got all the power in the past, it was forbidden to go to school in dutch, you couldn't speak dutch in the capital, ... When the border between french and dutchspeaking was determined the french cheated and cheated in the countings, and got communities of dutch speaking people who where obligated to do everything in french.

It doesn't take a genious to see the flemish came up to this injustice and defended there group, allthough there is still a big suppresion even in a modern country today in 2010.

Ironicly flanders, the region of the flemish, is by far more wealthy then Wallonia.
