While traveling on a recent road trip with my friends, we stayed at the Red Roof Inn. It was getting late at night, and we wanted to find a place to stay. This Red Rood Inn was located right off of I-55. We checked out a few different hotels located at the same exit. We felt that the Red Roof Inn looked like the cleanest hotel of the bunch and they had really low price. We only had to pay a little over fifty dollars for a room for the night. The room was so inexpensive and cheap. We really did not want to spend more than about $80 on a room, and staying here saved us $20 that we could spend elsewhere on our trip. Road trips are all about the experience. The parking was free. Even though it was late when we checked in, we were still able to find a parking space that was near our room. We were able to see our car from our room. We wanted to be able to see it so we could keep an eye on all of our belonging. We were also able to hear the car alarm if it went off.The front staff was not really that friendly. Since it was late, we had to go to the back entrance and the staff was behind a divider. I guess they close down their 'lobby' after a certain time at night. They would not show us a room before we checked in, so we just took our chances. They did not really provide much information and it felt like they wanted to get our transaction over as quickly as possible.Our rooms were a little larger than we expected. It was not very clean - the room had a very distinct smell to it. Even though we asked for a none smoking room, the room smelled like smoke. We went back to the front desk and they would not change our room, and stated that we were already in a none smoking room, and they did not have any other none smoking rooms available. There were no bed bugs in our rooms, and it was a bed to sleep on. It was maybe worth the sixty dollars we paid for the room.
