YES!!!

If you are leaving your home country to travel anywhere in the world , you MUST have a passport.

A passport is your identity, your nationality, and it is permission by your nation's government that you may leave the your country. It is NOT permission to enter any other country.

It is then best to check with the Moroccan Embassy in your country, if you need a VISA to enter Morocco. A Visa is classified into Short -term visitor(holiday/vacation), Work Visa, Residence Visa etc., A visa can cost an amount of money (fees) paid to the Embassy in your country.

You may find that you do not require a visa; that's fine!!!!

However, if you do require a Visa, and you arrive at the Moroccan border without a visa, you will be refused entry into Morocco, irrespective of having a passport.

In general, once you have a passport, you may leave your country. However, you MUST check with the Embassy/Consulate of the country you wish to enter, as to the requirement for a VISA. Without the appropriate permission a given country can refuse you entry, and put you on the next plane/ship out of the country to your home country.
