Yes, San Francisco has an airport called San Francisco International Airport (SFO).
There are a bunch of fairly priced hotels within walking distance to the San-Francisco airport. Most of them require a two day in advance reservation be made. So plan a head.
There is no airport called "San" -There are over 50 beginning with the letters 'San', so you better re-read your ticket and give us the full name.
Original answer: "It is located near San Francisco in a town called Oakland. So my guess is Oakland."-- I'm afraid that's not it, as the Oakland Airport is entirely different than SFO which is located south of San Francisco proper and not east across the Bay Bridge. The "O" is very likely the final "O" in San FranciscO. There are a lot of "SF" airports across the globe -- San Felix (SFX), San Fernando (in California that's SFR, but there are also San Fernando airports in the Philippines and Spain as well)...So for an abbreviated airport code where there are many similar airport codes, in this case you get SFO.It stands for San Francisco, Oakland. I was an import manager for 7 years and my old boss confirmed this. He was and still is in import export since the 30's. At one time there was one port name for San Francisco, Oakland. SFO Planes would land in San Francisco first then go to Oakland. There was even a plane that went down on the way to Oakland in the San Francisco bay.
Its in San Francisco
I lived in The City for many years, but that was long ago. So take my observation with a grain of salt. The bridge is on the north side of the city. The airport is south of the city. Between the two are the hills of The City. I don't believe that you can see the bridge from anywhere near the airport. FriPilot

A good halfway meeting point between Leeds and San Francisco would be an airport or airport hotel near the East Coast of the United States. So any airport or airport hotel around New York or Philadelphia would be convenient.
Do you mean when did the giants move to san francisco? If so, it was the 1958 season.
maybe so so dont have to swim through the river you retard
Because San Francisco is a very highly populated and dense city.
i think so
There are literally hundreds of towns and cities called Santa Rosa, so answering this one is difficult. Even within the United States, there are localities named Santa Rosa in such various states as California, New Mexico, Texas and Nevada. The nearest major airport with frequent airline service to Santa Rosa, NM is Albuquerque; Santa Rosa, CA is located north of the San Francisco Bay area, so several airports are within reasonable driving distance, including San Francisco International, Oakland International, San Jose and Sacramento. For the Santa Rosa in Columbia (South America) the airport would be in Cali; for the Philippines it would be Butuan City. Please try to be more explicit when the subject of a question is so broad.
