To effectively remove black residue from your washing machine, try cleaning the drum and detergent dispenser with a mixture of hot water, vinegar, and baking soda. Run a hot water cycle with this mixture, then wipe down the surfaces with a cloth. Repeat as needed until the black residue is gone. Regularly cleaning your washing machine can help prevent buildup in the future.
try making a paste with baking soda and letting it soak for a little while. repeat till gone.
A red flashing light on the Hoover Nextra Optima washing machine when the start delay timer is set might mean that the timer itself is not operational. Run the washer on the regular cycle, and if it works fine, it is the delay timer.
If you can use washing soda (Arm and Hammer, for e.g.), wash the jeans in this a couple of times. I hate that awful "match" smell on dark jeans and it took a few experiments to find a solution to this problem. I haven't noticed any fading that wouldn't occur as a result of washing and after two runs through the machine with washing soda, the smell is gone.
You can try using laundry detergent on the stain. Apply detergent to stain and gently scrub with a sponge until stain is gone, then wash as normal in the washing machine. You can also try using white vinegar on the stain. Allow the vinegar to soak on the stain for around 10 minutes then wash in the washing machine as you normally would.
Try using a stain remover and leave to act for five minutes. Then put it in your washing machine as usual, with all your regular settings, and when it comes out. They should be gone. :)
Try doing a wash cycle with NO CLOTHES and about a cup of bleach. When it's done, check to see if the smell is gone. If its not, try one more time with more bleach. If its still not gone you might have a mold problem somewhere where the water can't reach.
