Both Panama and Costa Rica are considered safe countries for travelers. However, crime rates can vary depending on the specific location within each country. It is recommended to research the safety of the specific areas you plan to visit in both Panama and Costa Rica before traveling.
no way. no reason. in many regards Costa Rica is much safer than most 'developed' nations.
Technically, Costa Rica has a small piece of land that is north of Panama, other than that, the only thing north of Panama is the Caribbean Sea. If you keep going north far enough you'll get to the the United States.North of Panama is the country by the name of ...... ?
San Jose, Costa Rica, is the capital of the North American nation other than Panama that is closest to the Panama Canal.
Both Belize and Costa Rica are generally considered safe countries for travelers. However, Belize has a higher crime rate compared to Costa Rica, particularly in urban areas. It is important for travelers to exercise caution and be aware of their surroundings in both countries.

If you consider Panama to be a North American country. (Since the canal runs through it, the country is divide between the north part of the country which is in North American and the southern part which is in South America.) If Panama is considered, the answer is Panama City, Panama. If not, the closest exclusively North American capital is San Jose, Costa Rica.
Costa Rica's absolute location is 9.7489° N, 83.7534° W. Hawaii's absolute location is 19.8968° N, 155.5828° W. Costa Rica is closer to the equator than Hawaii.
There are no jaguars in Costa Rica, there might be very few Pumas or small wild cats but you would have to a very very deep and isolated area in the jungle to maybe see one if your lucky. there absolutely are Jaguars in Costa Rica, in fact the Corcovado National Park (near Panama in the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica) has one of the highest populations of Jaguars per square kilometer in the world (even higher than the Amazon by some estimates) Jaguars can also be found in the Parque Internacional La Amistad (shared with Panama) and in La Selva Biological Reserve (among others)
by width i am to assume that you mean the distance from the Pacific Ocean to the Caribbean Sea, that is roughly 76 miles at its narrowest point (122 kilometers) and 172 miles (276 kilometers) at its apparent widest point (from Punta Guiones the westernmost point in Costa Rica to around the area of Barra Del Colorado in the Caribbean side). It is substantially 'wider' than Panama which is perhaps the reason the Panama Canal was built in that country. There was talk of originally building the canal in the Rio San Juan (which divides Costa Rica from Nicaragua) but those plans were abandoned when the area of Panama was deemed more suitable.
Temperatures vary significantly with altitude, from lower than to greater than 80ºF, but are fairly constant year-round.
