if the yellow light you are refering to is located on the end of your gear selector, then the yellow light indicates that you are driving your truck in "Overdrive" and if you are, then push in the button at the end of the shifter after you have reached about 40 miles per hour. you only need to use overdrive if you are pulling a trailer, otherwise do not even turn it on. driving with the overdrive light on means that you are in overdrive and you will eventually blow your tranny using it all the time and if you are above 40 miles per hour.
