The elevation gain of the Havasu Falls hike is approximately 2,400 feet.
To calculate elevation gain during a hike or trail run, you can use a GPS device or a topographic map. The elevation gain is determined by subtracting the lowest point of the trail from the highest point. This gives you the total vertical distance climbed during the hike or run.
Elevation gain refers to the total increase in height during a hike or climb. The higher the elevation gain, the more challenging the hike is likely to be. This is because hiking uphill requires more effort and can be physically demanding, especially at higher altitudes. Elevation gain can impact hiking difficulty by affecting factors such as endurance, cardiovascular fitness, and overall physical strength.
The hike rating system evaluates and ranks trails based on criteria such as distance, elevation gain, terrain difficulty, trail conditions, and overall scenery to determine the level of difficulty and enjoyment for hikers.
It is an down-hill hike all the way.

It depends on how long and far you want to hike and the level of difficulty you are looking for. Laurel Falls is a much shorter and easier hike with a 2.6 mile round trip and a moderate level of difficulty. Ramsey Cascades is a strenuous 8 mile hike. Both end in beautiful waterfalls but in my opinion Ramsey Cascades is by far the more impressive (and after a long, hard hike much more rewarding). If you are an experienced hiker I would recommend Ramsey Cascades, especially in the winter. While snow makes conditions tougher towards the peak, the falls will be half frozen and completely breathtaking.

This is one of the most scenic drives I have been on. There is a roaring river along the base of the falls. You can hike through Zumwalt meadows and the up to Mist Falls. On the way up to mist falls there is a very scenic spot.
