Confucius's sayings were collected in a volume known as the "Analects" (or "Lunyu" in Chinese). This text, compiled by his disciples, consists of a series of dialogues and teachings that reflect Confucius's philosophy and thoughts on ethics, governance, and morality. The "Analects" remains one of the most important works in Confucianism and has significantly influenced Chinese culture and philosophy.
It's a saying (Confucius)!
ton is a short phrase for saying century, good question!
when you know something, recognize that you know it, when you don't know something, recognize that you don't know it that is knowledge
when you know something, recognize that you know it, when you don't know something, recognize that you don't know it that is knowledge
Was it a saying by confucius? Confucius wouldn't have ever used the word "cannon" (that would have been "大砲" literally "big gun") as he lived around 500 BC, and gunpowder wasn't invented until the 9th century AD. In fact, the kanji combination "大炮" does not appear in any of the books from Confucius. What we know about the quote is that it gained popularity in the move Entrapment (1999) - where the character "Mr Conrad Greene of Kuala Lumpur" delivers the line "Confucius, he say: Don't use cannon to kill mosquito." (Tongue-in-cheek). It is unclear if the quote existed before, although it was no present in the original screen play for the movie. After the movie, it has been adapted and posted to various online sites as an actual confucius quote. With that said, Confucius is not against over measures, in fact he has advice to be cautious: "以約失之者,鮮矣" "The cautious seldom err" -- Confucius (The Analects, Chapter IV)
He was a civil servant and administrator.Confucius was a teacher and philosopher, so he taught people. His famous saying" Do not do unto others, as others do unto you". He wanted to be part of the government.
Confucius is known for his philosophical teachings, emphasizing personal morality, ethics, and social relationships. Some key concepts include the importance of respect, filial piety, and the pursuit of self-improvement. One famous saying attributed to Confucius is "Do not do to others what you do not want done to yourself."
One fable that embodies Confucius's teachings is the story of the "Wise Farmer." In this tale, a farmer faces a series of misfortunes, including losing his horse and crops. Instead of lamenting his fate, he remains calm, saying, "Who knows what is good or bad?" Eventually, his horse returns with wild horses, leading to prosperity. This fable illustrates Confucius's belief in the virtue of patience, resilience, and the acceptance of life's uncertainties.
It is called 'Digestive' System and not 'diejestive' system- just saying:) Anyways, from the anus all the things that have been collected in the large intestine like fibres, undigested food, etc. get out of the body through the anus.
The 21st century. ACE means After the Common Era. Just another way of saying AD.
They do not worship a god. Confucianism is more like a philosophy then a religion, so if people were Confucius they could also be Buddhist without anyone saying pick a religion and stick with it!
This saying by Confucius stresses the importance of observing someone's actions, motives, and joys to truly understand their character. It suggests that one's true nature and intentions are revealed through how they conduct themselves and what brings them happiness, as these aspects cannot be easily hidden or disguised.
