Theodore Roosevelt was sad about his first wife Alice Hathaway Lee and his mother Mittie Bulloch passing away on the same day.
He was a bit concerned that it would create a new competitor in the Pacific; which it did, Japan. Roosevelt had a solution for such an event; The Great White Fleet, which commenced it's run in 1907. Yes, Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States, was known for his heroic actions and accomplishments. Conservation is the protection and preservation of anything e.g. energy, wildlife, environment, Natural Resources, historical artifacts, books etc.
I just read a new book that states the Roosevelt couldn't get support to help the Jews of Europe to leave. The author makes a petty good case that he tried and Congress wouldn't listen or do anything. Imagine how many people would have been saved if he had.
Theodore Roosevelt is often credited with this quote. It emphasizes that making mistakes is a natural part of taking action and trying new things.
