There is a strict protocol involved in the placing of honours and awards. Generally the bravery or gallantry awards take precedence, and each class of award is given its ranking. Starting on the left breast working from the centre outwards, the maximum in a given row is also determined by different protocols.
Certain awards also have a set place to be displayed, a knighthood for instance or an order of the garter. These may or may not overrule the normal order of precedence.

Medals and ribbons on an Air Force uniform are worn on the left side of the uniform jacket. Ribbons are arranged in order of precedence, with the highest-ranking ribbon at the top and centered above the left pocket. Medals are typically worn during formal occasions and are placed directly above the ribbons, also centered. It’s important to follow specific guidelines for spacing and alignment as outlined in the Air Force Instruction (AFI) regulations.
Ribbons are usually worn on US Army Class A uniforms. They are placed on the wearer's left breast, above the pocket, in "Order of Precedence". There are many lists/picture charts available everywhere.

On US Military uniforms, ribbons are placed above the wearer's left breast pocket, in a prescribed "Order of Precedence".
Check the Marine Uniform regulations. They will specify what ribbons you are authorized to wear from the Army. Medals awarded are normally going to be allowed, but ribbons that don't come with medals probably won't be.
You use a ribbon bar. These are thin frames of metal or plastic with pins. You slide the ribbons onto the frame work in the correct order and it pins onto the uniform with the standard sort of pin with cover. Ribbon bars come in metal for a specific number of ribbons, or you can get plastic ones that can be clipped to size. For a couple of ribbons, I prefer the metal frame, but once you get over a couple of rows, the plastic will provide some give and movement with the body.
